Performance Art

On Artscape tonight the topic was Performance Art.
To begin with I was somewhat sceptical (I’m really not into trying to comprehend why flesh-hooks and the pain they cause is artistic or even explorative).

However, then these two – Clark Beaumont – popped up and one of the critics began to talk about how video performance art is where it is heading.
I liked it – it’s not offensive, but it is explorative.
And it communicates emotions – it’s not narrative, it’s not quite a sketch.
